Crave Restaurant---Castle Rock location
Many locals have heard about the burger place that has the option of a burger that uses two doughnuts instead of buns. Hearing that option either grosses people out or sends them into a saliva-induced frenzy. When looking at the lovely online picture menu, however, one can see that there a ton of saliva-inducing options that are sure to make anyone "crave" one of Crave's burgers. The Castle Rock and Highlands Ranch locations are equal distance for all of us Parker residents, so our group of about 10 people that night decided on Castle Rock. It is a pretty small place that is bound to have a short wait no matter what night you go. We always go on weeknights for our Eating Club and had called ahead, so the wait time wasn't too bad. When sitting down and seeing the options of burgers and shakes, you feel like you have found one of the featured places from "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" because it looks downright delicious in a very non-imposing atmosphere. You can tell the staff enjoy working there and are just as excited about the menu as you are. A few of us ordered some fried pickle slices as appetizers from the urging of the waitress. They are a little addicting, but also not as much as we had anticipated. One order can go a long way and can be shared with probably 4 people.
When looking at the menu it is hard to choose between the many gluttonous choices. The place has won many awards, so knowing that makes you feel more rest assured that you probably can't go wrong. If you aren't a huge eater, a good way to go is to split one of their gourmet shakes and a burger and fries. You will still feel stuffed. We all enjoyed the burgers and I even ordered a chicken sandwich at a subsequent visit and it was really good too. We highly recommend Crave burger. For between $10-15 a plate you will be stuffed and satisfied.
And for those of you that are gluten free, they do have gluten free buns that are pretty good for gluten free.
